A word from us

HamTalk is widely discussed, and that is a good thing. Some ask whether using a smartphone to operate still counts as amateur radio. We understand the question. Our answer: HamTalk does not replace a radio or an antenna. It is an additional door into our hobby.

Who this door is for

For blind and visually impaired radio amateurs. With VoiceOver and a clearly structured interface, one press of a button is enough to make a QSO. Many experience this for the first time without outside help.

For older OMs and YLs. Programming a codeplug is for many the biggest hurdle in digital radio. Almost everyone has a smartphone today, and HamTalk needs no codeplug.

For the young generation. They come in through the device they already carry in their pocket. We hope that they will then also find their way to a radio of their own.

Amateur radio connects

Amateur radio connects, it does not exclude. Our goal is to get people talking to each other, across generations and technology. Classic amateur radio and modern devices do not exclude each other, they complement each other.

Anyone who sees it differently is warmly invited to talk to us. Preferably on a talkgroup.
